Workshops / Visits

I offer in person assemblies, readings, and workshops for primary and secondary school aged children including Nursery. Virtual readings and workshops are also available. I deliver active sessions that develop drama, poetry, and public speaking skills. Let me know what you need and let's write and perform together!

If you're working towards your Siarter Iaith Award, or looking to improve confidence in Welsh then I'm happy to use lots of incidental Welsh (I'm a new Welsh speaker) and I have lots of Welsh language poems for younger children.

Workshops below give an idea of the kind of things I can cover but I'm happy to mix things around to suit your needs. I can be jumping around with Nursery one minute and then writing thoughtful poems with Year 6 the next.

Some Workshop Ideas

Rhyme & Song

Explore rhythm and rhyme with action rhymes and songs. We'll use fun props like scarves, parachutes, lights and instruments.

Available in English and Welsh. Suitable for Nursery and KS1.

School Poem

Take me on a tour of your school and lets write a new school poem together! I'll introduce a range of poetic devices to help students create a poetic mission statement that instills pride and focus. Suitable for KS2.

Writing Poetry

Let's write together.

I'll lead students through a range of creative prompts that will help them unlock their poetry power. I'm happy to discuss themes so that my workshop can complement what you are studying. Suitable for KS2.

Performing Poetry

Let's perform together!

If you can perform poetry, you can perform anything! We'll work on developing participants' voices and diction, stage prescence, physicality, and connection to the material.

Practicalities

My standard rates are in line with the minimums set by Literature Wales and The Royal Society of Authors.

There may be free visits available (I sometimes work with organisations who will fully fund my visit to your school or library), or we can pencil a date and apply for funding that covers up to 75% of my fee.
