Workshops

I offer in person readings and workshops for children from age 3 upwards. Virtual readings and workshops (using Zoom) are also available. I deliver active sessions that develop drama, poetry and public speaking skills. Let me know what you need and let's write and perform together! (If the participants are 6 or under then just a heads up, there will be bubbles, lots of bubbles).

If you're working towards your Siarter Iaith Award, or looking to improve confidence in Welsh then ask me about my Rhyme and Song sessions (I am a higher level Welsh learner and work, write and act through the medium of Welsh).

Workshops below give an idea of the kind of things I can cover but I'm happy to mix things around to suit your needs. I can be jumping around with Nursery and then writing thoughtful poems with Year 6 half an hour later.

Prices

£70 - 30 minute local school assembly / up to 45 minutes on zoom

£175 half school day visit - including an assembly if wanted

£300 full school day - including an assembly if wanted

(I am based in The Vale of Glamorgan and do not charge travel within Cardiff and The Vale.

Funding to cover half of my fee may be available from Literature Wales - please ask.

Discounts are available if you book more than one visit per school year.

Workshops

Rhyme and Song

Explore rhythm and rhyme with action rhymes and songs. We'll use lots of fun props like scarves, parachutes, lights and instruments.

Available in English and Welsh.

School Poem

Take me on a tour of your school and lets write a new school poem together. A new poetic mission statement to instill pride and focus.

Writing Poetry

Let's write together. I'll lead students through a range of creative prompts that will help them unlock their poetry power. Happy to discuss themes so that the workshop can complement what you are studying.

Performing Poetry

Let's perform together. If you can perform poetry you can perform anything. We'll work on developing participants' voices and diction, stage prescence, physcality and connection to the material.
