I'm really excited to be working with the brilliant people at Poetry Together this term! The initiative brings the generations together to celebrate poetry over tea and cake - a great way to foster connections and community spirit.

My full day visit is fully funded so there is no cost to the the school.

Pupils will spend time with me listening to, writing, and performing poetry. The project theme this year is 'celebration' so there will be a real emphasis on enjoyment! We then gather together with grandparents, 'grandfriends' or residents of a local care home or community group (the school decides) to share poems and conversation. There is also a fab competition and the chance to win books for your school or a spot on ITV's this morning. You can read more here and below:

The application form is quick and straightforward, you just need to assign a class / year group to take part (years 3-6), arrange an elderly community to partner with, and suggest some dates that work for you.

Places are limited so do apply soon - I'd love to work with your school!
